Caleb should have known the blood pact was a bad idea. He had been steeped in magic from an early age. He should have also remembered that Jester's "god" was also his godfather, but he'd honestly lost track of Art as his mother had fondly called him after his mental breakdown. Why would anyone from the Feywild care about him after what he'd done.

But Bren now Caleb should have known that his godfather had never stopped keeping an eye one him and deciding that a certain half orc would be the perfect "husband" for his sad and lonely godson regardless of what said godson might have thought about it.

Caleb was currently on deck of the Mistake/Ball Eater trying to clear his head a bit when he hears a smooth deep voice in his ear."Hello godson, I hope you enjoy my gift...I think he's going to make your life interesting...and you certainly need that."

Caleb turned around trying to find the source of the voice but he ends up just looking confused and irritated well more irritated than normal. He mutters something in his native tongue that doesn't sound pleasant and then mutters. "What did you do," without realizing someone might overhear him.

As if the fae ever really worried about what mortals thought about their plans! Clearly all Caleb needed to know was that there was a plan, and that surely it would be wonderful, right? Right!

Not that Fjord was aware of the interaction. He spotted the wizard, saw the look of annoyance and confusion, but had no clue that anyone else had decided to visit Caleb. Brows furrowing as he came closer, picked up on the muttered question.

"Can't say I've done anything," He replied easily enough, with a faint shrug. "Something on your mind?"

It wasn't hard to tell that Caleb was fibbing. Fjord considered the wizard, considered pushing the matter but... let it drop for the moment, with a faint shake of his head as he leaned against the railing, gaze going out to the waves. "Didn't disturb me, no need to apologize."

The next part of things again had him thinking, gaze skipping down to where his hands rested against the rail. "I don't... think I need to tell you that I'm still not entirely used to only having myself to rely on. S'how it was for a long time and well... takes a long time for things like that to sink in I suppose. But it... well it means a lot more than I can rightly say that I know I've got you at my back."

It was a bit easier to have a conversation like this when they could both look out on the ocean rather than each other. Made it a bit easier to let the honesty bleed through that Fjord often struggled with in this respect.

"Well, you've got them now," Fjord hummed, gently tilting to nudge Caleb's shoulder with his own in an almost idle bit of light affection. "Got me too."
